Embedded SpicY AI

SpicY™ is AI embedded in the SPICE™ platform. It helps authorized users search status, understand exceptions, summarize performance and complete defined work within SPICE™ workflows.

Embedded SpicY™ intelligence across the SPICE™ platform

SpicY™ is built into the SPICE™ platform and works across procure-to-pay, order-to-cash and logistics. It searches transactions, summarizes status, alerts users to critical events and recommends the next step.

Get from transaction evidence to the next useful action.

SpicY™ helps authorized users search status, understand exceptions, summarize performance and complete defined work within the SPICE™ platform and applicable workflows.

Embedded in SPICE™. SpicY™ is a platform capability. It is not a separate module and cannot be purchased or used independently. It works from the connected transaction history SPICE™ already keeps: orders, confirmations, changes, shipments, receipts and invoices.

Practical assistance: ask a process question

These examples show the intended evidence-to-action experience. Responses use illustrative sample data.

Procure-to-pay: “Why is this supplier invoice waiting?”

Invoice INV 9021 is waiting for a receipt reference. The order and ASN are present, but the required receipt event is missing from the supported feed.

  • PO 10482 · 100 units ordered
  • ASN 7719 · 100 units dispatched
  • Invoice INV 9021 · receipt check unresolved

Suggested controlled action: ask the receiving team to confirm the receipt. An authorized user reviews the evidence before changing the transaction. Explore the related workflow.

Order-to-cash: “What is holding up this customer order?”

SO 20861 has a confirmation, but the expected shipment event has not arrived. Customer operations can investigate the fulfillment status before making a delivery commitment.

  • SO 20861 · order received
  • Confirmation · recorded
  • Shipment event · not yet received

Suggested controlled action: review the ERP or warehouse fulfillment status and follow up with the accountable team. Explore the related workflow.

Carrier: “Which shipment needs carrier follow-up?”

Shipment SH 7310 has a tender but no carrier acceptance in the configured response window. It needs transportation-team follow-up.

  • Tender · sent
  • Carrier acceptance · missing
  • Response rule · window exceeded

Suggested controlled action: contact the carrier or review an alternative under the configured transportation workflow. Explore the related workflow.

Warehouse: “Why did this warehouse update fail?”

The sample warehouse update references an item that is not matched to the enterprise item master. It has entered review rather than continuing to the ERP.

  • Warehouse update · received
  • Trading partner SKU 4018 · unmapped
  • Validation · item-master exception

Suggested controlled action: have an authorized reviewer verify the item mapping, then resubmit the corrected transaction. Explore the related workflow.

Where SpicY™ fits in each product

  • SPICE Insight™ Ask a question in plain language, such as “Which orders are missing a supplier confirmation?”, and see the transactions and the evidence. SpicY™ can summarize the evidence and suggest follow-up; an authorized user controls the action.
  • SPICE Web OMS™ and SPICE Trade™ Find any order, shipment or invoice by asking for it, and get explanations and suggested next steps within your configured roles and approvals. Each party sees only the information it is authorized to see.
  • SPICE Digital Document Service™ SpicY™ helps read incoming business documents such as invoices and orders; SPICE™ then validates the data against the original transaction and your rules before it becomes a digital transaction.
  • SPICE iKompli™ SpicY™ answers common trading partner testing questions with responses your team has approved. Anything it can’t answer goes to your team inside the test, with the full history attached.

People stay in control. Your ERP remains the system of record. SpicY™ works within the access each user already has, and changes to transactions follow your approval rules.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How is AI used in supply chain work in SPICE™?

SpicY™ is embedded in SPICE™ workflows to do specific jobs: finding transactions and status from plain-language questions, explaining exceptions with the supporting evidence, summarizing performance, helping read business documents, and suggesting a controlled next action. It works from the connected transaction history SPICE™ keeps.

Is SpicY™ a separate product?

No. SpicY™ is a platform capability built into SPICE™, not a module you buy or use on its own. What it does depends on the workflow: search, explanation and summaries in SPICE Insight™, SPICE Web OMS™ and SPICE Trade™, approved answers to common trading partner testing questions in SPICE iKompli™, and document reading in SPICE Digital Document Service™.

Can SpicY™ change our transactions on its own?

No. SpicY™ suggests next steps within the roles, approvals and workflows you configure. Changes to transactions follow your approval rules, and an authorized user reviews the evidence first. Your ERP stays the system of record for accounting, inventory and enterprise execution.

Who can see what through SpicY™?

SpicY™ uses the access each user already has. In procure-to-pay, for example, buyers and suppliers can work from the same transaction history, but each party sees only the information it is authorized to see.
