Trading partner EDI certification & compliance

SPICE™ EDI compliance and certification gives manufacturers, retailers and distributors a self-service way for suppliers and EDI customers to test against their maps and business rules, with clear results and go-live approved by your team.

How trading partner EDI certification works on SPICE™

An illustrative example. The enterprise publishes its EDI standards and transaction maps. Trading partners test their own documents in a self-service workspace, see which business rules failed and why, correct and retest until every required test passes. The enterprise approves certification and the connection moves into production, with compliance tracked after go-live, and the two sides collaborate throughout.

Certify trading partners against enterprise EDI requirements

Give trading partners a self-service path to test transactions against enterprise specifications, maps and business rules, with clear feedback and progress visibility.

Every new EDI trading partner has to prove its documents meet your requirements before it goes live. With SPICE™, you publish your maps, rules and test scenarios once. Trading partners test on their own, see exactly which requirement failed and why, and retest until they pass. Your team sees progress across every trading partner and approves each one for production. It works on both sides of the transaction, certifying suppliers when you buy and EDI customers when you sell, alongside your existing EDI platform or VAN.

Keep the stages and responsibilities connected

  1. Publish specifications The enterprise owns maps, rules and required test cases.
  2. Invite a trading partner Give the trading partner the requirements and a self-service testing path.
  3. Run required tests Validate submitted transactions against the enterprise specification.
  4. Resolve failed rules Use clear results, test-level discussion and embedded SpicY™ assistance.
  5. Approve certification Record readiness only after the required scenarios have passed.
  6. Hand off to production Move to the production program, where native middleware transforms data and the agreed support team operates the connection.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is EDI compliance?

EDI compliance means a trading partner's documents meet your requirements: the right maps, data elements, business rules and timing. SPICE™ checks compliance before go-live through self-service certification testing, and after go-live through exceptions and scorecards, so problems are caught before they become rejected documents or chargebacks.

Does SPICE iKompli replace our EDI platform or VAN?

No. SPICE iKompli™ works alongside your existing EDI platform or value-added network. It handles pre-production testing and certification against your standard maps and rules; certified connections then move into whichever production environment you run.

Can we certify customers as well as suppliers?

Yes. SPICE iKompli™ supports both sides of the transaction: an enterprise buyer certifying its suppliers, or an enterprise seller certifying EDI customers before they send orders. You define the requirements in both cases.

Who decides when a trading partner goes live?

You do. Trading partners test and correct on their own, but a trading partner is marked ready only after it passes every required scenario, and your team approves the move to production.

How is rollout supported?

SPICE Connect™ can manage setup, integration, trading partner communication, onboarding and 24×7 production support for the enterprise and its trading partners.
